The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance public service delivery through improved efficiency and compliance with international standards.
ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard that outlines the criteria for a quality management system, focusing on customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and employee involvement. The certification reflects the organization’s adherence to internationally accepted practices in management and service delivery.
According to a press release issued by Ombudsman Punjab Office, the certification process involved several stages, including a gap analysis to identify areas of improvement, implementation of required standards, internal audits, and a final certification audit conducted by an accredited body. Post-certification, the office will also be subject to regular surveillance audits to maintain compliance.
The certification is expected to yield several institutional benefits, including enhanced credibility, improved internal processes, greater operational efficiency, and a stronger competitive standing among public sector entities.
With this achievement, the Ombudsman’s Office becomes one of the few public institutions in the country to be formally recognized for aligning its operations with global quality standards. The release said the recognition underscores the organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance.
