ISLAMABAD: Six Kalashnikovs recovered from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s possession, police claimed on Sunday.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) minister was headed to the party chief’s – Imran Khan – residence in Bani Gala when his car was stopped and searched by police on the Rukhsana Bangash road.
Police searched the car and claimed to have recovered arms and munitions from the minister’s vehicle and reportedly fled the scene afterwards.
PTI leader Shireen Mazari denied the reports against Gandapur and said that that government has resorted to dirty politics.
According to Mazari, police also tried to stop her but she removed the barriers and said that ‘they cannot stop us and the PTI will come with full force on November 2’.
She maintained that it is an exercise of their democratic right and laments the government’s use of police – as personal army – to harass political workers.
